Steps Behind

Led by pianist Sarah Cion this combo includes Mike Rubino on Sax, Dan Asher on Bass and Bill Reeves on Drums. Steps Behind is a tribute band that draws inspiration from the legendary fusion group Steps Ahead, known for their innovative blend of jazz, rock, and electronic elements. Our band brings the spirit and energy of Steps Ahead into our performances, weaving in their groundbreaking sound while also honoring the influence of master musician Mike Mainieri. Alongside our renditions of Steps Ahead classics, we introduce original compositions and unique arrangements that are deeply inspired by their iconic style. With each performance, we aim to pay homage to their legacy while adding our own creative flair, merging the old with the new in a dynamic fusion of sounds.
